A friend in Tehran just sent this:
I was having a headache this afternoon and had two pills to have a nap at around 5. my son and husband were out, and I had the house to myself. I was startled out of my sleep by the doorbell ringing unendingly.
Thought that I was dreaming but it was true…The doorbell really was ringing. I got up.
There were people at the door blocking the camera with something and saying that they were from the Intelligence Ministry. I thought, it must be me they want. So I got dressed…
I was like a sleepwalker just going through the motions, ready for the worst. I went to the door monitor again and one of the guys removed his hand from the camera and said, Come down and we’ll show you that we are from the ministry.
Only then did I see that they were at least 6 commandos at our door.
I actually thought to myself that I would have been happier to see the intelligence ministrythere!!!! LOL I asked them what they wanted?
He said that they have heard Allah-o Akbar from our roof top and some other slogans during the past nights and they were there to arrest us.
Only then did I finally wake up to what was really happening. I told all the other neighbors NOT to open the door at all because these people do not have any letters giving them permission to enter the property.
The commandos are here to intimidate us. When they enter buildings they destroy everything they can.
Anyway, we did not open the door, but can you believe that they are still out and about on our street waiting for the time?!?! In ten minutes we will have a big show on the street I bet!
There are six to 10 of them in each van.
It goes without saying that no one will chant Allah-o Akbar from this building tonight for obvious reasons.
The commandos kept insisting that the manager of the building go with them. And god knows what happens to people who do.
With all this, I think we should expect a period of tough measures. Next week is the 9th of July anniversary, and I am sure the authorities are very concerned.
I feel my heart has never been pounding so hard as it has these days. I have nightmares every night.
Even though the commandos are lying in wait outside our friend’s house; they cannot be everywhere. Here are chants from one neighborhood last night. The people are chanting God is Great, Down with the Dictator.
